OUR SECOND YEAR
The second Christmas event, where we worked with Abington Avenue School in Newark, New Jersey, to get matched with four families in need. The school's guidance counselors chose the four families, and due to confidentiality, we will not be disclosing the family's identity. Each family provided us with the ages of the kids, their genders and their interests, along with any general needs for the family. In total, we were able to provide 75 gifts across four families, spending roughly the same amount of money on each family.
Additionally, we partnered with MeshMontclair, a nonprofit organization located in Montclair, New Jersey, and provided them with 72 scarves for their annual Christmas Eve dinner to give out to each guest. MeshMontclair provides essential services to Montclair's most vulnerable homeless adults and families, such as nutritious evening meals six days a week and provides overnight respite during extreme weather.
